I honestly have never heard that building on rock is bad. Why even the Good Book talks about building on a solid foundation.

Regardless, to get back to the original question of Seguin vs. New Braunfels:
Sequin is not bad town, I think New Braunfels just appeals to more people and has more to offer in the way of shopping, activities, neighborhoods, etc. The terrain is also much different - Seguin is mostly flat, while NB begins the Texas Hill Country.

Keep in mind that I am a bit biased, as I sell property in New Braunfels. But with that said, you may prefer Seguin. It's all a matter of personal preference.

I have notice MOST of the areas in between on 46 are filled with nice to upscale homes. The new Perry homes development a mile north of Seguin starts at 200's seems to be selling fast to. Maybe Seguin is finally starting to catch up.
