Usually 78. Luckily, all six of us have about the same temperature needs. Except when I'm pregnant...72 or I'm dying, but I'm not planning to change the thermostat anytime soon!

We have two 15 year old units and about 3500 sf of air conditioned space. We're on a mission this summer to improve our house leakiness (102 year old house with lots of original wavy glass and fancy but leaky glass exterior doors). Our CPS bills were pretty bad last summer- about $400. Hoping we see improvement.

Forgot to say that someone is pretty much always here. I'm a stay at home mom and my husband works from home, so we rarely turn it up or off. We're looking into those Nest thermostats, though. Might help.

I haven't received a bill yet since we just moved into our house on the 21st of June but we keep it at 78 during the day and 75 at night. We will need some ceiling fans since we have high ceilings. Our home is brand new and 1556 sq ft. Well see what the bill is in the future.

Nowhere near Texas, but we've been having similarly hot weather in TN. My upstairs (about 400 sq ft) is set on 68 F, but it's often 78-85 for a high during the day. Downstairs (about 1600 sq ft) is 68 but gets up to about 73 in the day. Don't know the bill.

76F when I am home, 85F when I am at work. It goes down to 76F one hour before I return to cool down the house. It's a Peak Saver Thermostat from CPS. I can regulate it from the computer or phone.
Just under $100 in hot summer, $40 in winter (heater). 1500 sqft, one story, older house from 1950, not much insulation. Installed ridge roof and heat barrier, new windows - it made a difference. No ceiling fans.

I keep mine at 80F. Sounds high but it's really cool and I'll rarely drop it down to 78F on really hot days, but I really don't touch it because I don't need to. I also use a ceiling fan at night. I have a 2,400 sq.ft. home, single story, and my current CPS bill is $71 ($59 electricity, $12 gas). My highest bill was last September which was $110. My home had the spray foam insulation in the attic and it is incredible. This is a new construction home that is 1.5 years old. The temp in my home is very comfortable and stable and the savings are great. Another benefit is that is essentially seals the environment out and I get NO insects in the house. No spiders, scorpions, etc!
