I'm sure this won't be the best summer for tubing....

Both of those look like pluses for someone wanting to bring young children

I hope the can ban drives everyone away...not because I want to hurt the business but to teach idiot city councils that they can only go so far...

Growing up we'd go to the K&L Ranch area (I think it was called). Picnic tables just upstream from the damn and road out of NB. 60's and 70's. I don't think I'd go near the place these days.

The Frio at ConCan was a great place way back but very cold water. I'm sure it's a crowded tourist mecca these days.

One more option...

I have not been, but have been looking at Landa Falls. They have a good facebook page for info.

We went over the Fourth. If you want to drink there are plenty of containers you can use to put your drinks in. We used lots of water bottles and the big Bill Miller's insulated cups to put our drinks in. The worst part is seeing people go to the river not knowing about it. We were behind a group that had to spend money on containers at the tube shop to put your drinks in.

If you are going as a family, though, this is good time to go. I saw lots more families there this time around. It was a lot less rowdy, most likely because those that wanted to drink went up toward Canyon Lake where there isn't a ban. Aside from a few "USA! America Moderator cut: language Yeahs!" it was quiet and a nice float. We went to Texas Tubes, which is also the area Landa Falls is in. So, I would recommend it if you're a family going tubing.
