Hmm...Trader Joes should put in their second S.A. store in The Rim! That might work! Leon Springs is too far out.

I second that Trader Joe's...Where I currently live (Eilan) they were in talks with Trader Joe's 2 years ago and TJ's wasn't interested at the time. Now TJ's is opening at the Quarry Village. I heard rumors that Eilan is talking to Whole Foods now. Let's see what happens. Eilan is the mixed use (residential, hotel, retail) development across from the Rim Shops

Leon Springs is 4 miles from the Rim shopping center....not that far. Did you mean the Quarry is too far?

Just stopped by the store today and saw that they are beginning to tear down the right side of the store. One of the managers said they are looking to have a grand opening in October.

I don't know of a time table for the Walmart.

I have heard some interesting things about that location though. One thing was that the location was set to be an HEB but the current landowner of the location where the HEB is now would not let them out of their lease. Also, I heard that the owner of that cow pasture wanted $25 million for the land and HEB declined. Walmart ended up buying it.

I believe it will be more along the lines of Alon Market. There will not be any electronics or furniture in the store according to the manager I spoke to.

I agree, but I would much rather go to Leon Springs than deal with the traffic nightmare of De Zavala. I know that a boutique grocer was slated to be built at Eilan, but it never materialized. A whole foods or sprouts would make an absolute killing from the Dominion residents.
