I'm wondering where to get a good Brazilian Blow out on the Northeast side of San Antonio and what the other people are paying for this service. I've had a few before and I love how easy it makes styling my hair everyday, but the cost is outrageous when added together with the tip! The prices I see are usually around $250 so then what would a decent tip be $50? That brings the total to $300 every 3-4 months...ugh.

I don't do the Brazilian, but I do the Keratin (Express) treatment. The Express is $125, the full is $275, I think. I get it done at Got Hair? on I-10 (I know, it's not NE, but it's not in my area of town, either ). The Express is supposed to last 6 weeks, but I can go 12. I have thick, wiry, curly hair. I can blow it dry, or let it air dry. I can leave it as is, or smooth it down with a flat iron (not so much for straitening, but takes out some volume).

We started doing my mom's Brazilian blow outs at home! We bought the same stuff from the salon, and my sister or I will do it or even tag team it. If you have a trusty friend, I'd def try doing it yourself! My mom's results are as good as the salon.

There is an organic alternative offered at Harmoni salon.

A chemical used in the Braz. B.O. emits formaldehyde gas when it's heated. I heard of this last year; maybe their formulations may have changed, so you might want to ask the stylist if you have have any concerns.

It's not exactly where you're looking, but Twirl in Southtown is an incredible salon and does exactly what you're looking for.

Go see Kayleigh at Intrigue by Color at Bandera and 1604. May be a bit based being the dad, but she does good work.

I posted this: I will mention Rick Klepach at Klepach Studios, just across from the Target near Blanco and the 410. He's a passionate artist. He just opened up this venue and already has a strong following. I'm sure he'd be willing to consult over a gourmet coffee first before you make the plunge. And his prices for my needs were very reasonable.

On this link: Great hair stylist PLEASE... almost 2 years ago, in 2012.

Still relevant. An incredible professional, very reasonable, and very invested in his clientele.
