I may relocate to San Antonio in in the near future and as such I am doing diligent research on housing and school districts on the north and northwest (where the job would be located). If offered the job, I need to be ready with an answer so I need to have a handle on a number of issues beforehand. Things are a bit more complicated with my family situation.

I have a 10 year old with cerebral palsy. We live in a wonderful school district here in Ohio. They nurture, encourage and challenge not only my 10 year old but my typically developing seven year old as well. We are very involved parents and have had very few disagreements with our son's development in this school district. We live in a 2200 sq. ft. ranch style home in a decidely middle class neighborhood with lots of kids and an easy commute to work, school and shopping.

My question for anywone out there is this: Where can I find something comparable in San Antonio? Does anybody have a similar experience and therefore any advice on where to live and what school districts research?
Anybody have any comments on local MRDD services?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

What price range were you looking for in a home?

Hope all goes well with the job situation. Good luck!

Default preice range

we would probably be in the $175K-$275K range depending on location and market here in Ohio.

If you are in the Northside district, you will be very please with the services provided those with special needs. I have several friends with kiddos that have requirements, and they are all very pleased with the services provided. I am sure that you will be an advocate for your child when needed, but NEVER be afraid to speak up if you feel there is something needing addressing!

Either Northside or North East would be your districts of choice. There are links to SpecEd on NISD's website: Northside Independent School District - San Antonio, TX 78238

I know that North East has a parent advocate in Central Office for Spec Ed services. I don't know if Northside has the same
