So we've been in SA 6 months now and I gotta ask why so few Texans fans? Everywhere all everybody talks about is the Cowboys. All that seems to be sold are Cowboys hats and jerseys. My 6 year has fallen in love with the Texans and tracking stuff down has required the internet. I know they are a newer team but we are closer to Houston. What am I missing, why no love for the Texans?

I watch the Texans on a regular basis. The answer about the Cowboys is simple: since there is no team in SA, most here are "Fairweather" friends. Once the Texans win a Super Bowl you will see a sudden swing of popularity.

Wrong. The Cowboys have always had a huge fanbase in Texas. I doubt the Texans have even recovered all of the ex-Oilers fans from the Cowboys, let alone people who have always been Cowboys fans living in Houston.

The Cowboys spend more time and money on marketing here than the Texans.

Plus there are people in the area who are diehard fans of the Cowboys because their parents and grandparents were diehard fans of the Cowboys, and they grew up in a household that supported the Cowboys. The Texans haven't been around long enough to have support that goes back generations.

We're here!!! We're here!!! Just see my tag line. But it is true, SA is largely a Cowboys town. Makes for a great gambling atmosphere for Cowboy haters like myself...

Wrong. As soon as the Texans win one you will see the change. Just wait. The Texans fans are here just waiting for the right time to pounce!! Haha that would put Jerryworld 6 feet in the ground when that happens!

Nope. You seriously underestimate how masochistic Cowboys fans are. They stick to their team no matter what.

I will never doubt the commitment true Cowboy fans have and should have! Like them or hate them, the Cowboys earned that right. I am stating I think the fanbase of the Texans will happily start showing their devotion after they win one. And not feel like the Cowboys little stepchild anymore where you have to hear about the Cowboys history everytime you wear a Texans shirt or hat.

Spurs 2011-2012

50 wins, 9 games ahead of Memphis in their division, tied for the best record in the NBA. Yes that's in the past, VERY recent past.
