No monkeys at SwRI. The "monkeys" (the animals you see from the highway) are actually baboons, at a different institute - used to be SFBR (Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research), now Texas Biomedical Research Institute. Sister organizations set up by the same person, but distinct, independent research institutes.

Moderator cut: Off-Topic He wasn't fire for speaking Chinese, he was fired for not listening to his boss. You have to love "at will" states. You can be fired at any time for any reason, heck you can be fire for "no reason"

Indeed. Like "I didn't fire her because she wouldn't have sex with me; I fired her for not listening to me as the boss"

I thought all states were at will.

There are many examples throughout our history of people with clearances selling or giving restricted information to our enemies.

True, somewhat. There are several shades of gray in this...

'At Will' does mean an employer has limited liability in letting someone go, but that changes completely if the employee is a union member or has a legal agreement with the the employer otherwise. Also, 'at will' terminations cannot violate wrongful termination laws or anti-discrimination statutes.

Even in Texas, the employee has a LOT of rights. As I've always said, KNOW THEM.
