Hi, I'm looking for advice, will be moving to SA next year.
What are the areas I should look at - along I35, not more than 30 mins commute to downtown?
How is the rush hour traffic like along I35?
Thank you.

Are you looking for a house or apartment? They're building/renovating quite a bit of condos/apartments in the downtown area which would cut your commute time tremendously.

Commuter traffic on 35 is a nightmare......at least on the north side......I live by Windcrest and I stay away from 35 during rush hour.

Oh dear... I asked about 35 because someone I knew told me there are nice divisions along I35 around 30 mins from SAT.
The traffic is a bummer, especially when you have kids to ferry around.
I am looking for a house. I have 2 school going kids.

That is a little misleading to say that the areas are 35 minutes away. Maybe during weekends or non-rush hours. But they are not the best place to drive from if you are going to be commuting downtown in the morning, and then driving back in the afternoon rush is just as bad.

Blame Fort Sam Houston and all the people that work there.

That makes sense. I never knew that was the reason.
