Yup this is true. But the first entrance ramp for 1604 west of Stone Oak Parkway is absolutely deplorable. The road on the westbound frontage road is so bad, and the exit ramp for Blanco Road from westbound 1604 is at the same place as the entrance ramp for westbound 1604...and God forbid any merge area.

The new exit ramp off 1604 West for Blanco is pretty much where the exit is now. The entrance onto 1604 West will be moved soon to its permanent location further west closer to Blanco (and where the previous exit for Blanco used to be). I agree that the Yield sign for the frontage west of Stone Oak is too far from the exiting ramps off 1604.

Are the mainlanes of 1604 still closed on the weekends? Sorry about all these questions, but I was in Virginia for 10 days in December and I don't know if some of these projects were wrapped up or not.

1604 and where? If you mean 281 and 1604 then no.. the off ramps and on ramps have pretty much been completed...

Anyone have any idea when the EIS for 281 North of 1604 will be completed? All I hear is 2014 but hopefully maybe sooner?
The current new 4 connectors are nice but come on. We all know the main issue is north. 281 north of 1604 should have expanded like.. 10 years ago. I think I speak for all when I say people in zip codes 78258, 259, 260, and 261 are frustrated and losing hairs over this.

Isn't it silly to have moved north of 1604, hoping that 281 would be expanded? Anyway you only have your neighbor Terri Hall to thank.

As a resident of 258 who's 90 seconds away from 281, I'd say it is silly, but that doesn't preclude us from improving or trying to improve the situation. The silliest thing would ne doing nothing. Anyways, I personally think the SuperStreet had done wonders.

Careful... earlier in this thread we started talking about 281 N and it was deleted as being off topic.

Yes, you have perpetuated the urban sprawl, and this is what happens!
