With two full tanks of gas, the gas is worth more than the cars.

I'd find someone needing and deserving of a vehicle and give it to them. In fact someone at work in another department I know is struggling.

That is really nice of them to offer this special. Is this for Christmas? Make a great gift if you were already in the market for a Lancer.

You'll most likely still owe taxes on the 2nd car, plust title and registration. Like all things in life, nothing is truly free. Plus, you'll have to insure both vehicles until you sell the 2nd (if you can even do that).

Carmax pays cash for vehicles. I would imagine you could sell it to them and get all most enough to pay for the 1st car

Do the math. You're buying a $20,000 Lancer, plus paying TTL on both. For the sake of simplicity, let's say that is $2000 each. Out the door, you're looking at $24,000. Carmax might give you $10 or 12 for it, leaving you paying $12 to 14 for the first one. That's the same general price range as several better cars like the Fiesta, Versa, and Rio. To top it off, you have the threat of Mitsubishi pulling out of the US market looming over your head, which is what they have been rumoring for a year or two now, so good luck with parts. The current Lancer is also a six year old design with six year old technology. Yes, you still get a cheap Lancer, but why would you want one? A five year old Corolla will run forever for the same money or less.

Today I called before I went to the dealership. Still told the BUY ON GET ON speech.
The deal is BUY ONE - LEASE ONE for $1 with option to BUY AFTER 2YRS for $10K.
NO DEAL. You could have walked in off the street to get the lease option.

Default So Totally Chinese;

Those cars are so totally Chinese and cheaply made that they can give one away because it is only worth half the asking price.
Buy American, save the country.

Any insight on this?
