Might take a look at True Vine Baptist Church. It's on Ellison just behind a strip center on Potranco Road. It's about 2 miles in from 1604 on the same side as HEB. There's a CVS, Walgreens, Valero also at the intersection. It's a very fast growing church and you can't help but see it if you're coming from 1604. Besides HEB, it's the biggest building yer gonna see. That would be a place to start. Here's more info:

Village Parkway Baptist Church (Culebra near Westover Hills)
Leon Valley Baptist Church (my SIL goes here--on Grissom Rd)
Cavalry Baptist Church (on 1604 near Potranco)

try Find Meetup groups near you - Meetup

Have have used this site to find social running groups and womens social groups. Have made some great friends in both of them with similiar interests. There are mom groups but I don't belong to any of them. I would definitely give it a try.

My wife has certain lifestyle preferences. She likes to be around like minded women. She's an avid fitness buff, so she would be more likely to befriend someone that takes care of themselves. Hope that doesn't sound bad, just being honest.
