I got some of the fresh, foil wrapped pork tamales from the deli section last weekend and they were surprising good. I don't know about their plastic wrapped version in the refrigerated section.

I've had the refrigerated Central Market ones. They're not bad at all.

The CM designer ones (I think 6 to a pkg) are very good...the chicken and green chilies especially.

They aren't horrible. Way better than Delicious Tamales which are nowhere near delicious.

The puerca ones from Culebra Meat Market are surprisingly not bad if you're looking for alternatives.

Delicious Tamales are really nasty imo. HEB's are pretty good or go to south presa to el norteno molino. That's where I get my masa to make my own tamales and have bought their chicken tamales before. They were great!

HEB has pork on sale this week...you could try making your own I tried it for the first time a couple weeks ago and it's an all-day project but a very tasty one.
