I don't know about the million dollar view he's got...but I agree with buying in a proven area (and I've bought and sole plenty of homes). Leave nothing to chance(as best you can).

It sounds like you did your research and know what you got yourself in to. Not sure why anyone has to give you attitude over YOUR CHOICES but it's pretty typical. Glad you found what works for your family and your health.

Just to make a point, we didn't buy our house for real estate purposes. We bought it because of the safety, schools, desired layout, and as far away from 1604 as we could. The neighborhood isn't Alamo Heights, or Schertz, or Stone Oak, but it is established. The fact that our property has gone up so much is just a benefit to us making a good decision. Just a all-around win for our situation and future. Again, if you are looking for schools, I suggest you look at greaterschools.org and ask the kids and parents that attend the schools you are interested in.
