Pretty hard to imagine, but it happened.

On January 31, 1949, the snow-covered city (4") saw its all-time coldest temperature: 0F (-18C)
Temperature 6F (-14C) happened twice.
It has not been since December 23, 1989 that San Antonio has even dropped below 10°, making 1949′s rare artic reading all that much more impressive.

Now that is some cold. I bet tender plants and palms were slaughtered that winter in San Antonio.

I can't even imagine it getting to zero in SA. I have been here 20 years and the coldest I have seen it get was in the upper teens. Can't imagine it getting almost 20 degrees colder than that.

Several, I guess. Even a day before, January 30, it was only 5F.
The hottest day on record was January 30, 1971 when the temperature hit 88.0°F.
And on February 21, 1996 the temperature hit 99.0°F.

Today supposed to be 80F.

I remember that well. That was my first year in San Antonio. That Feb started off with ice on the roads, and the interstates shut down. Than later that month it hits 100 (according to some reports that day). I thought to myself, "what whacky weather this place has."

I'm wondering if y'all have a chance of getting into the single digits within the next week. We're looking at 19 up here in Austin and it keeps getting colder. My dad said I could come down to warm up this weekend and I might take him up on it if it's not wet out.
