A woman out alone at night, especially walking is a bad idea in my opinion. Why put yourself at risk???

Why lock yourself up inside?

Why not walk? We love walking all over our neighborhood, have been doing so here for the past 10 years.

The good thing is I know where I can feel safe and where I shouldn't. Generally speaking of course. If you're new to town then I suggest you ask the locals. Same thing you should do anywhere if you plan to be exploring areas. I'm pretty sure most would agree what we refer to as our east side is most dangerous especially at night. Aside from the East side at night... I have no real substantial fears of the rest of the city. With a few exceptions of small pockets in certain areas.

I most definitely feel safe walking around King William/Southtown/SoFlo and downtown at night. My girlfriend also feels very safe walking around the areas I mentioned at night.

The only subdivisions that I know are that bad on that side of town are Camelot and the Glen

I live in the Medical Center and my response to this is "absolutely not." My neighborhood's gated and safe enough, but I won't go outside it on foot at night. My neighbors will but only if they're carrying. Unfortunately there's people cruising around looking for trouble all the time, and I've followed many of them until they've left my neighborhood.

I'd also say I live in the Medical Center area (just east of IH-10 in Colonies North) and would give an unqualified "YES" to whether it's safe going for a walk after dark. As to the..."only if they're carrying"...are you really implying that this area is "Deadwood" ca. 1890????

In my current neighborhood (Potranco area) yes I would feel safe. In my old neighborhood (Millers Pond) probably not as much. But since I don't walk...ever...anywhere....ever... I feel safe all the time. Problem solved.

The area of the Med Center that contains Datapoint? Uhhh, no way would I be caught walking over there. The area near the hospitals and medical buildings is different....safer there....and Colonies North is much safer. I didn't even realize that was considered the Medical Center.
