Unfortunately, because it is business property, they can do that...but I would appeal. Now, if it was a primary residential (not rental) AND you had the homestead exemption, then no, they could only raise it 10% max.

Probably because there's less automation at the Bexar office.

I read once that the Harris County Health Department has every restaurant inspection available online for the public to view. In Bexar County, you have to go to the Health Department office to view these records, because the office hasn't computerized its records to that extent yet.

I live on the NW side just inside Loop 1604, near Babcock and Hausman. My appraisal stayed exactly the same as last year's.

I just looked at Harris County Appraisal District (HCAD.org) and it is WAY better than BCAD.org. Better organized and more information! BCAD, I hope you read this and improve your site AND timing!
