What's the deal with so many people running red lights here? I've lived in a few large cities, and have never seen so many red light runners as I notice here. Just a little curious.

Yes, it's an epidemic here. The drive to work every morning is unbelievable. There are chronic runners at Timberhill/Grissom, Bandera/Grissom. Eckhert/Huebner, Babcock/Huebner, and Babcock/???--some side street that is evidently very popular. By the time I get to the school zone at Babcock North, I would like a margarita. It can be horrifyingly scary. Oh, I forgot Babcock/Prue. Seriously, something needs to be done.

They may be stopping at the green lights because they're afraid of the red-light runners. The only solution is for people to stop thinking they are the only ones or at least the only important ones on the road. Get up a few minutes earlier and you won't be in such a damn rush. And maybe you'll also have time to shave/put on makeup/finish getting dressed and won't need to do it behind the wheel.

That doesnt really apply b/c they dont stop in front of a green light that just changed, they stop (or almost stop) when they are afraid it will change yellow.

But yes, i agree people need to realize they arent the only ones on the road

I have seen 3 cars go through a green light and the fourth car just stops and hold traffic up. This is common in San Antonio and the light has not change yellow. I am against red light runners.

Ever been to Phoenix? Young people are scared to cross the street. Only Eagle scouts are allowed to help the elderly. Phoenix has these huge multi lane intersections with lights that take forever. A lot of finder benders out there. Did I mention it hot as the devils taint.......

I am against red light runners too, but what might explain some of it is frustration with all of the road construction around town. Even if you leave early, you are often delayed quite a bit because of lane closures. It is very tempting to run a red light just to hurry up and get off the messed up streets!
