I was at a yard sale in my neighborhood a couple of weeks ago and heard some woman talking about how her kid was going to Churchill even though we are in the MacArthur school district. I thought I hear her say something like "student's choice" or something to that effect. Anyone have any idea what this might mean? We are soo much closer to Reagan, 3-4 minutes tops, than we are to MacArthur and frankly, I don't know if I want my caught going there.

It's School Choice and you can find the guidelines under the NEISD website. Unfortunetely the time to apply for next year is over as I'm reading the dates to be Jan-Feb for application. Even then it is based only on how much space they have available at each specific school. Reagan is packed so I'm not even sure if they have slots to begin with.

There is a reason you are zoned to Mac and not Reagan, Reagan is full to capacity. Give Mac a chance it's a great school with a rich history.

You can ask for "School of Choice" but it can only be to a school that isn't capped for enrollment & you must provide your own transportation.

I agree to give MacArthur a chance. Both my boys did well there. One was a GT/AP student, the other was more into sports. Both are at A&M.
