What is up with the smog? I was running errands earlier this afternoon and could barely see the downtown skyline.

It could be coming up from Mexico with their yearly burning of forests. But I haven't heard anything extra about it on the news.

U.S. Air Quality
A massive smoke plume covered the Texas and Louisiana as well as the western Gulf of Mexico. This smoke plume appears to originate from agricultural fires in Mexico.

They are burning the sugar cane crops. They do this every year. I guess we should fell licky that we usually only get Mexicos' smog once a year. El Paso gets it all the time. Our good neighbors to the south.
