I'm moving to SA from Canada in a couple weeks, and I'm curious as to which financial institution I should go with. Are there any that are better than the others? I'll be living in the Hwy 410/Perrin Beitel area if that matters.

Thanks!

Jefferson State Bank is the only locally owned bank. There's no corporate BS to deal with. They are extremely stable as they don't get into a lot of speculative banking. Most of my banking needs are handled by them by phone. That's one of the pluses of locally owned banking. I've been with them for over 30 years. Downside- they don't have a lot of locations around town.
While Frost Bank advertises they are from here, it's now a corporate bank. If you like corporate banking, they are the biggest originally from Texas. Seems like there's a Frost Bank on every corner.

I don't recall there being anything within that immediate area but a few near Broadway, actually there is a Broadway Bank off of Broadway. There are several of those in the city. FWIW, though, I bank with Firstmark Credit Union and they have been nothing but great. You just need to be a resident of the city to qualify to be a member with all benefits. If you are looking into USAA, I believe you can do regular banking but must be affiliated with the military in someway to receive all the benefits of banking there (some people seem to forget that not everyone in the city is affiliated with the military).

Along walzem rd which is just 1.5 miles away are a chase, frost, Bank of America , international bank of commerce (ibc), security service credit union, Randolph brooks federal credit union. I like Bank of America, to me it's just easier if you travel to have acess nationwide except for Colorado.

Security Service Federal Credit Union

Jefferson State Bank is my bank since 1990, and they are great, except their operating hours:
Lobby Hours:
Monday through Thursday: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Friday: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Motor Bank Hours:
Monday through Friday: 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m

Their location is very close to 410/Perrin Beitel. Good online banking, and communication per phone. They really care about their customers.

I'd recommend you go with a credit union, but if you insist on a bank per se, USAA is the only way to go.
