Certainly doesnt hurt that Armie Hammer has "The Lone Ranger" coming out next week.

Either way, I am totally addicted to this place and it was good to see Elizabeth Chambers (Armie's wife for those who didnt know) and her Bird Bakery getting the stamp of approval from Bobby Flay.

I have GOT to get me some of those brownies!

GMA LIVE (06.24.13) | Watch the video - Yahoo! Good Morning America

Quote:
The raincloud that is the Spurs’ Game 7 loss to the Miami Heat was somewhat dissipated Monday, and all it took was a Mexican chocolate brownie.
Seriously, though, Bird Bakery owner Elizabeth Chambers brought some sweet publicity (pun intended) to our city on Good Morning America yesterday during a segment with Food Network star Bobbie Flay. The master griller scarfed down the pastry while hosts Josh Elliot and Lara Spencer chatted with Chambers about her actor husband Armie Hammer’s upcoming film The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp.

The couple have owned and operated the Alamo Heights bakery since 2012, boasting a menu of everything from sandwiches and coffee to legendary cupcakes and cookies, all made with quality, wholesome ingredients.

That place is right down the street from me! I've been looking for a good bakery in my area. All of the ones I've tried so far have been pitiful.

Been going since they opened. Elizabeth is there a lot, and the girls that worked there are as nice as can be.

Interesting that she is there a lot. I dont think Ive ever seen her but then again I dont think I'd recognize her outside of a television interview (and maybe she isnt there on weekends).

I DO agree though that everyone that works there is super nice. They seem to love to go into great detail explaining a certain flavor you might like.

While Im at it I have to recommend the Elvis cupcake.

LOL I promise Im not shill for them. Its just nice to have a local place you can fall in love with.

I went to birdbakery.com and the website was not very informative. It showed lucious food items, but there was no link or menu to look at. In fact, there were no links on the website at all. Where do I get a menu?

The menu changes daily, they've had all sorts of cupcakes, brownies, cookies, lemon bars and pecan bars. They also server traditional sandwiches; turkey, chicken salad pb&j

The cupcakes there are amazing - way better than any of the other specialty cupcake places I've frequented. I'm a big fan of the salted caramel one - so good.

Another Elvis fan here but everything I've had there has been excellent. And the staff is always super nice. My only complaint is that the last time I got there they had sold out of almost all the cupcakes!
