Hello all.. hope everyone enjoyed their holiday.

I will be relocating to San Antonio soon, and will be working in Alamo Heights. I'm single, and looking for a part of town that will have young professionals around my age and will also not be a hassle to get to work (If someone can clue me in on how traffic is, that would be great as I am coming from far away). I am looking to rent a 1-bedroom and can spend up to $1300/month. Would prefer newer construction, if possible.

You'll find what you need in Alamo Heights. Just search for 78209 when looking for rentals. There are several newer complexes off of Treeline and Basse that would be a nice fit.

Maybe the Stone Oak area. Or Alamo Heights near Broadway and 410.

Perhaps but there are new complexes and lots of places where that aged crowd hangs out. I recommended 410 and Broadway but I am not sure there are younger people in that area.

Try the Can Plant at the Pearl, 1800 Broadway and the Mosaic.

I have a friend that lives at 1800 and he loves it. There are always people at the pool having drinks, cooking and just having a good time.

New complexes = Pearl, 1800, anything in that area. There are also some interesting old houses, but if you want new, there is plenty to choose from. Nightlife on site, lots of young professionals, and it's basically South Alamo Heights. Depends exactly on where you'll need to go, but your worst commute will be a mile or two up Broadway. You could possibly even cycle.
