My guess is that they are from Ohio originally and now moving back home. I used to see this a lot in Michigan.

Considering most of them moved here a few years back, they're probably going home to see family and friends. It is summer here....but then it's summer here 9 months out of the year.

What makes you think we're moving to Ohio? I have family there and I know many other people who've moved to Texas with Ohio roots. It's hot here in Texas during the summer. If I had time, summer would be the best time to visit there and get away from the Texas heat. Also, airfares are up, so it's more expensive to fly to Ohio from Texas. Driving might be the cheapest way to make that trip now.

It is because of the Marcellus Shale formation. Same thing is happening in the Marcellus that spans Ohio and PA as is happining in the Eagle Ford Shale. Texans are in the oil bidness and follow it to wherever it takes them, including Ohio.
