Hi, my girlfriend and I just moved here from Washington State. We're planning on getting jobs to make ends meet, but I sell my art on the side, and if things go well I'd like to just sell art. Looks like permits to sell by riverwalk/ alamo area are expensive or only done on a lottery basis. Can anyone give me any tips on street markets or shops that would hang a couple paintings? I know there's first friday here in SA, and the first thursday market over in Austin. I make multi layered elaborate stencils of people or landscapes painted with spraypaint for a little street art twist. Here's an example I'd sell for $60 or so depending on how successful I am down here on a 2'x3' canvas

Thanks San Antonio

Is that a typo? 60 or 600? 60 is way too cheap. I'm not an artist or a collector but I know selling original art for that price isn't going to sell, needs to be more.

These guys consign art pieces all the time. I've inquired about some in the past and they usually go for 500-5k
Local Coffee San Antonio

do you have a site? I'd buy that piece for 60$ lol San Antonio is pretty impoverished you'll have a much better chance doing art fulltime in austin.

That looks great! I know various restaurants/shops/bars in Southtown put up local art for sale. I would just walk around and ask. Heck, my wife and I have been thinking about having a local artist come in and paint one of the brick walls of our loft.

yeah the price is priced to sell. Since it's a stencil and I am able to recreate the work many times over I price to sell. Each one is unique but all pretty similar. The original work took about forty hours to cut the stencil but its probably paid itself off by now. I'd love to sell some of these! Get ahold 5092945040 text or call!

black background with a gray stencil layer and a white stencil layer. I specialize in colored multi layered portraits, provided I have a good reference photo. I can manipulate most any photo or freehand spraypaint murals on businesses. I have a ton of references back in WA state where I previously resided. My freehand mural work is all over many businesses up in that state. Let me know if you want an original art piece portrait or a bedroom or business mural and I'd love to be involved!
