I've lived in SA, actually Schertz for about a month now. I would like to get back into training but am having a difficult time locating a good place to do some lap swimming. I work off Bulverde and 1604 so something in that area around noon would work or something earlier in the morning. I've called and searched but so far I've got nothing. Here is where I looked so far:

Incarnate Word- Might be the best option but I think I have to pay $40 for a membership
Palo Alto- To far to drive
Alamo Heights- Members only
Lady Bird Johnson- only from 0730-0900 MTW, don't they know people work?????

Any ideas or suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

FYI: We LOVE living here.

What about the Y? The one on Walzem has a pool, I don't think the one in Schertz does. Walzem Family YMCA - YMCA of Greater San Antonio

Blossom has lap swimming 10am to 2 pm, M thru F, $4 each time or $60 for a punch card for 20 swims. North East Independent School District

We use the Northside Aquatics Center, but that isn't close to you. Some of the Gold's gyms have lap pools, but you'll have to pay for a membership.

I did find out the Y in Schertz is going to get a pool soon so that is nice. I'm thinking that I'll just join the Y in Schertz and that will also give me access to the other Y w/ the pool. Thanks.

Just to be clear about the Alamo Heights outdoor pool, it is members only, but just in the same way that other gyms are. It's not like a country club.

It is only open in the summer, though, and the $250-425 memberships are for the whole summer.
