I'm looking for feedback from anyone who may have fished there.

Thanks.

Both are stocked every 2 weeks. If you go in the weekend they are stocked , you will have a good time. If you go on the off weekend, you will catch a sunburn. I am not sure which weeks it is stocked. Here is more info. City of San Antonio | Official Web Site - Parks & Recreation Department

Southside Lions Park

This is one of those little known hidden away gems in the city. I was born in San Antonio and had lived in the area all my life and never knew about this neat little park until I happened on to it one day when I was in my forties. I haven't been by there is several years, don't know about the fishing but like they say " the fishing is always good, but sometimes the catching is not". Next pretty day I think I'll have to give it a try, thanks for jogging my memory about this place.

Southside Lions Park has been getting alot of improvements since the last few years including new playgrounds, restrooms and cold! water fountains. Also, they have a mile long jogging trail around the lake and have the entrance to the Salado Creek Greenway Trail. There are always people fishing there, but large enough that you can find your own space. You do need a fishing license, I always see the Texas Parks and Wildlife out there in their trucks or 4-wheelers. I have put the history of the fish that they have stocked it with below but cannot find the recent day/month dates. Also, here is a link to MYSA.com for an article they did on fishing at Southside Lions Park.
