Right, he gave them the address then was shocked when they found his house? Perhaps they just wanted to get the stuff there ASAP and make sure it made it. No better way to do that than doing it yourself.

They probably felt bad that 1: You had a bad experience at there establishment 2: They said they would email a gift certificate and didn't 3: You had to call them back to get the ball rolling again. I guess they figured they owed you a little extra effort, pampering if you will, to make up for your bad experience and a lack of attention to your problem on they're part. I think you wound up experiencing what is a rare occurance these days. Lucky you.

I am really amazed at the customer serive aspect and realize they wanted to make up for it right away. It was just my first reaction was a little shock in realizing that I was a little uneasy that someone did look up my information and then came on over. And I do realize its a shame to feel uneasy but I was taken aback but it is awesome that they did want to take care of it asap.

Amazed and a little creeped out. If the expectation is mail, it's weird to have someone show up at your door *unannounced.* They definitely should have told you they were coming over. It's not polite to drop in on people unannounced period (tho I usually tolerate it from friends). If a stranger I likely wouldn't even answer the door.

edit: I do think it was well-intentioned, just not well executed.

Mildly creepy, honestly.. but considering the gesture, I feel like it was done with good intentions and they went the extra mile to get your gift cards to you asap without having to wait a few days for the mail. I think it was nice of them as a business in this day and age to actually do that.

So as others have pointed-out, you said you gave them your address, right? Is your physical address different than you mailing address?

I asked her if too much time had passed and she said no, so I gave her my address to mail it to us.
From the above, I also thought that you had given her your physical address so that she could send it to you via postal mail. If they simply used Google Maps (or any GPS) to find you to hand deliver it, then that's no cause for alarm. You gave her your address.

Now if you only gave her your email, and based on that, plus your phone number and name, they Googled to figure out your physical address... That's a little bit more questionable.

Either way, though... Great customer service. Kudos, Longhorn.

Yes, I gave them my physical address which is my mailing address, but it still had to be googled or gps'd. I was just expecting it to be mailed not hand delivered but again I am thankful but my first reaction was a little hesitantly put off.

Well it didn't "have" to be googled or gps'd, there are still these old fashioned things called maps available on paper. One wonders how we got by before the Internet....
