This coming from someone (a shill) who registered just to post on this and other burger-centric threads about how great Timbo's is? Why in the world would I automatically trust what you say? You seem to have a major dog in this fight. Furthermore, why would Armadillos sell the most important piece of their burger-making arsenal to Timbos? It doesn't make any sense.

And FYI, I got my info from a longtime waitress who works at Armadillos and who's family worked for LD when he owned the space. She says it's the same grill. I'm inclined to believe her based on the taste.

Default Original grill from Little Hipp's

I helped move the grill from the old building (Little Hipp's) to Timbo's in Spring Branch in 2002. I helped move the grill from Spring Branch to San Antonio, along with those heavy orange booths and tables.
I worked at the original Little Hipp's in the 1970's and at Timbo's since he opened.
Armadillo's took over the building--nothing else.
And yes, I am related.
Hope this helps put the grill question to rest.

Well, at the end of the day, we're all still chatting on a anonymous message board (relatively) and regurgitating the information that we know.

I can't say for sure that the waitress who told me this is correct, but I can't also trust that you are who you say you are. What matters most to me at this point is that the burgers at Arm AND Timbo's are good and both places seem to be experiencing success.
