I have a 270 that has not been fired for several years and I suspect the settings on my scope have been moved. I'm not familiar with ranges in town and was wondering if anyone knows a place where I can take her in and zero. Whitetail season coming up and I want to go!

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

The place called " a place to shoot". I hear the commercial on radio. There a several more. But this is the only one with a catchy name.

What part of SA are you in? There are ranges at all four corners of the city, and some are better than others.

A Place To Shoot was shut down for a while after allegations of people shooting off the range. I believe it reopened back in June and I've heard they've got more employees on the line to ensure people are following the rules. I've been out there but haven't shot on their range.

Probably the more popular ranges are Cedar Ridge (NE), The Bullethole (W), and Bexar County (SE). I like Blackhawk (SW) but I do the vast majority of my shooting at Camp Bullis. Unfortunately, that range is only open on the weekends to DoD ID card holders and does not allow guests. Otherwise, it would be my #1 recommendation as it is a beautiful range that is safely run and a great place to shoot.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Cheers! M2

Thanks major, I live right outside of Helotes. Just never zeroed inside the city limits and right now I don't have access to any property where I can just show up and set up the target without advance notice.

Dang, Bullis would be perfect as it is close to you; but in absence of being able to go there you're best choice would probably be The Bullethole down off Grosenbacher.

Just a tip, if you can go during the week. The place is chaotic during the weekends and unless you can get a private bay, I don't recommend shooting there. They do have a rifle range from 100 to 300 yards, and the range fee is $9.50. If you've not been out there before, you'll also need a Range ID card for a one time fee of $5.00.

Blackhawk is about 10-15 minutes further south in Atascosa, I like it better but an all-day pass for the rifle range is $8 per rifle. Just note they do not take credit cards there! They also only have a 100 yard rifle range, but for sighting in that's about all you'll need.

Cheers! M2

Thanks, y'all. I ended up going to A Place to Shoot and it wasn't too bad. Got zeroed after a few shot groups and popped off the rest of the box just to make sure lol. Only issue I have with that place is the yahoos who take their family there and don't show their young teenage daughters the way to properly and safely carry a rifle when standing among others. Looked like a bunch of wannabe gangsta idiots.

Going out to the lease this Saturday, looking for the monster buck
