Searched the forum did not see the answer to my question, here we go. We are a military family relocating to SA looking for a single family home. Rent between 1500-2000/mo. Safe neighborhoods, newer homes, family friendly, great schools, close to shopping and restaurants and in a location that has a short commute times to Lackland and Ft Sam. What's the best area for our criteria.

Thanks

Are any of those really close to Ft Sam? To the OP are
Newer homes really important? That requirement is going to make it much harder to find homes with a short commute time to both bases.

Ahh. I stopped at seeing Lackland. With a commute to both I would add 78237, 78238 and perhaps 78240 in addition to 78249, 78230 and 78231 to the mix. But the rent for the space the OP wants may be a bit out of range. If you're in Leon Valley you can get to Ft via 410 and if you're in the Medical Center it's probably an even split for the two.
