We interviewed them before choosing our builder. We liked the sales guy, gosh, can't remember his name but he was GREAT! The actual owner was a little different though. They build a BEAUTIFUL home!
We actually ended up going with U BuildIT

Well, whomever you use, don't rely on KB Homes. Don't believe me, do your due dilgence on them.

They don't call 'em "KB Crappers" for nothing. Just messin' with ya.

Bridle Bit Custom Homes - www.bridlebitcustomhomes.com -- is a good builder. Small, San Antonio builder. Builder of the Year 1999. Good reputation. Excellent customer care. Well built homes, lots of extras built in -- crown molding, soft corners, security system, lawn, fence, sprinkler system, granite kitchen counters, etc. Priced right now from $289,000 - $350,000 - homes in Stone Oak; garden homes in Royal Ridge. Thanks for asking.

A friendly jab...but have you been in the Quarry? You should drive through and look at that community. Very nice. We have a home under contract there. Don't lump all the cheap KB neighborhoods and the old RAYCO crap with most of KB's newer offerings.

Exactly. Just about every tract builder in SA builds both nice and less desireable products. Centex, KB, Pulte, Medalion, etc...all have neighborhoods none of us would want to live in just like they have some that we would all love to be in. It all has to do with the line of house and location.

What about Stadler Custom Homes, Hughs Old World and Greg Lewis? Does anyone have any info about these builders? They are custom builders, but I have not been able to find out much info besides their websites and what they have told me. We are looking at building out in Anaqua Springs.

Stadler Custom Homes is very nice...you must be shopping in a high end price range. Anaqua Springs is also very nice. But like every other builder - make sure you get your own inspectors.

Stadler, Hughes, Lewis, etc., all build very nice homes. In that price range, there are a ton of things to consider and investigate. It's a very different monster than picking a production home builder. Sent you a PM about that area.
