Do you have any type of specialized skills? Like welding, manufacturing, etc? There are some good industrial jobs in town that would probably snap you up in a second. I would look on Craigslist and maybe even talk to a temporary staffing company.

^^ agreed. with your skillset, finding a job as a mechanic, or even a mobile mechanic should not be an issue at all. you can likely make more working for yourself as a mobile mechanic vs working for a shop.

not sure about aviation mechanic jobs in SA though, not my field unfortunately.
