Whats the issue? Damn, AR is a nice area. 1 section 8 housing project isnt gonna ruin it. People need to chill about this, seriously.

No one seems to want it "in their back yard". Afraid it'll bring their property values down. They are correct in that sense. For most, it's their one big investment, as they don't have much of anything else.
They are also afraid of an increase in the crime rate.

Good lord. There are preferences. Some people like the suburban sprawl of Alamo Ranch. Others dislike it. You're not going to change their opinions so what is the point of always bringing up "commercial this, commercial that, fast food over here fast food over there, apartments on this corner, apartments on that corner..." The shiny new "now coming" will wear off one day and the Alamo Ranch area will be just like the De Zavala area or the 410/San Pedro area. Tons of traffic, some shopping, some food but mostly traffic. And people will live there, willingly, because they like that area. Whether it be for location, work, stuff...whatever.

Woop woop for an HEB, Wal-mart, apartments, whatever.

Without people expressing opinions, there wouldn't be forums. Relax.

Oh man, only on city data could a debate about fast food chains being built be so tenacious and ridiculous.

The only reason I point this out is that every time this area is discussed it devolves into a love/hate debate.

It's all on the original master plan for AR as well. All of the areas are labeled as residential, commercial, mixed family multi-use, green belts. It's all there, all of the people quick to complain about a new apartment complex, or more restaurants must have not looked at it before they signed on the dotted line.

This is a concept plan of AR that shows what I'm referring to. The master is slightly different and I'm still looking for it.
