well, there's a lot worse things it could end up talking about and food is something everyone here has in common..

there is another topic that should be common to most people though.. I found this (Are You Tough Enough? Drink Recipe - DrinkSwap.com) while trying to find out more info on this: Booker's Bourbon (http://www.drinkswap.com/ingredients/ingredient.asp?ingredient_id=1605 - broken link)

I'd love to hear from anyone that can actually handle the first one and would really love to hear from someone that's tried the whiskey I linked to. I saw it @ D&B's by HEB+ (see, this does have something to do with Potranco/1604) and the wooden box it came in caught my eye. The 126 proof also caught my eye.. I'd love to see how that could possibly be smooth like some many reviews called it. I never read anything bad about it, it's supposed to be some of the best. $60/bottle though..

I also noticed that they cleared land on 1604 between Reed Rd and West Military Dr? Don't know what is coming up but they for sale signs are up.

check out Fruitilicious, that's where jolicious got their concept. Fruitilicious has been in business since 2002. It's a small Mom/Pop Snack shop. You'll like. 12024 Potranco Rd. immediately after the Dollar General.

is it like a smoothy place? I know anything like a Jamba Juice would make a fortune off my daughter..

Speaking of smoothies.. There was supposed to be a Maui Wowi (love that name) opening in the HEB+ shopping center

Default Bookers Bourbon

RD,
I just wanted to let you know that I've had Bookers bourbon. My husband and I did a "bourbon tour" that we planned out around Kentucky and Tenn. a couple of years ago. We went to the Jim Beam distillery where Bookers is actually made, Makers Mark, and down to Jack Daniels. When you go they give out free samples and that day it happened to be bookers and knob creek. They were both...good? I guess. I'm not a HUGE bourbon drinker though. I know bookers is REALLY strong and was thick...which I'm guessing they are supposed to be. I would say if you like bourbon, it's worth the money. The girl serving us said it was "our lucky day" as the two that I mentioned were really good. I hope that might help a little. Let me know if you want to know anything else...we did watch a little documentary on the whole bourbon/Booker making process.

ahh, thank you very much mojokitty. So the Bookers tasted like Makers Mark? I work with a guy from Kentucky and he loves bourbon, especially the Mark. Now I think I know what kind of smooth they're talking about because Makers Mark is far from smooth, to me at least. I think you have to be a serious bourbon lover/alcoholic to consider MM smooth and he is.. It's easy to put a smile on his face, just mention pretty much any kind of alcohol and he's good to go for at least 30 minutes

you probably saved me $60, thanks

Default I think there was a misunderstanding..

I'm sorry, I think I must have said that wrong. Makers Mark is a whole different distillery than where Bookers is made. Bookers is made at the Jim Beam Distillery. If you like Jim beam (which I don't think is as thick as Bookers) then you might like the Bookers. Bookers was just incredibly thick and heavy. It was VERY strong too. I actually had to water it down a little. So, if you like that...then you might like Bookers. Hope that helps!
