At 410 and Blanco is an 'Aloft' Hotel. I know nothing of it, pass it regularly. Looks nice, and may not be as pricy as the Riverwalk. But you may like the Riverwalk.

San Antonio Airport Hotel | Aloft San Antonio Airport

Let us know how it went.

It's quite a nice hotel, in the parking lot of a Target and World Market...

And it's about 2 blocks away from the city's largest mall.

Not quite an easy walk tho. Crazy insane traffic on streets not made for pedestrians. 2 blocks there isn't the same as two blocks downtown.

Most of that walk is through parking lots and retail storefronts while crossing the street at the corner is easy enough. It only requires patience and looking both ways before stepping off the curb.

It is not in a far away suburb but in the city. It is not the core but still urban. That area was developed long ago. 410 was still Loop 13 then. 281 was not even around.

Also for anyone recent to town the propety which houses Aloft used to be Central Park Mall. Maybe that is why it was even mentioned?

I agree. That shopping center is walkable enough for an adult. Several times, I've walked from the Drafthouse to Target and back. Crossing San Pedros is probably the riskiest part of the walk. I assume there is a crosswalk in the vicinity for that, since there's a VIA hub right next to North Star Mall.
