To be honest, unless you are completely clueless as to how to put a resume together; I have never found these generic resume "services" to be of much help. During my Transition Assistance Program (TAP) when I retired from the military, we had resume "experts" give us guidance and advice on putting one together. Most of their suggestions were pretty basic, good if you didn't have an idea as to what a basic resume should contain but nothing substantial on how to develop a baseline resume then creating tailored ones for specific jobs based on the required/desired qualifications. There are plenty of free online sources of good information on resume writing that will give you much of the information these "services" provide.

I would recommend finding some "mentors" in the field in which you are interested in getting employed in and seeking their advice. Asking them to review your resume and provide feedback is not asking too much, most of the people I approached about this were more than happy to help and I've done the same for others who asked for my assistance. That networking will help you find a job as well.

Good luck! M2

If I remember correctly you're in school, right? Your school should have a professional development department that can put you in contact with someone if their services aren't up to par. I went to an online school and they have been helpful in locating resources within the SA area for things that I have needed.

Good luck!

Thanks both of you. I contacted my career services and they sent me an information sheet of sorts. I have it complete just cannot get the fonts in order. Simple but I just cannot fix it.
