Hi everyone,

I am new to the San Antonio market and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good/reputable cornea specialist/ophthalmologist in San Antonio?

Thanks for your help!

I was diagnosed with this last year. I am curious to see what people have to say. Were you a long time contact wearer?

That's what the told me I had to do. My insurance won't cover it, so I am going to build up the amount through my cafeteria plan. I have an eye surgeon who was recommended to me a few months ago, but can't find the name right now. I will call my eye doc this week and get the name again.

KC is tough. I have very bad astigmatism and ghosting and halos. Very difficult to see at night... I really need more help. I am from Cleveland and we have the Cleveland Clinic there which is 3rd in the country for opthalmology. Hopefully there is somewhere in SA that has a decent doctor. When you are messing with your eyes, you want only the best

My dad sees an Opthamologist named DR. Michael Singer at Medical Center Opthamology Associates. The office is a large building dedicated to the eyes and seems to be one group of docs using common staff and techs. The operation is very busy yet very efficient. The patients seem to move right thru the system, almost like an assembly line. They keep their appointment times for the most part. The facility is clean, comfortable, and orderly........important for my OCD. Most important, Dr. Singer is a straight-forward, no nonsense doc who explains everything he's doing and why. I don't know how he rates compared to others but I saw him on TV and it wasn't a commercial. That makes him good....right?

Mark3253,

Is there a link on that site for Intac's? I couldn't find one, but I could have missed it. The doctor I went to told me that was my only choice for surgery to correct it. Unless I want to let it wait a few years and get a corneal transplant, which doesn't sound very fun.

GWhopper,

Sorry I don't know what "Intac's" is. I skimed thru the website and did not find that term. Good luck finding a good doctor.
