The Go Airport Shuttle that costs $18 one way appears to be independent of the hotels that they serve. I guess they are intended to serve tourists and business travelers, but why would they care if you are actually booked at a particular hotel?

Now, there are also "courtesy" shuttles operated by some hotels (both downtown and suburban locations) that I believe offer complementary rides to and from the airport for their registered guests, but I always understood that their service had to be pre-arranged, essentially "by appointment only", in that they don't make routine trips to the airport, in hopes of just finding somebody milling around that may or may not have a reservation at their hotel.

Oh ok. I wasn't aware of the complementary shuttles. It would be wrong to take those shuttles on the hotel's dime if you are not booked with the hotel, but it did not appear (to me) that is what the OP was asking about.

If it was me, I would just take a cab.

It was exactly what the OP was asking about, taking a hotel shuttle from the airport to downtown without being a paid customer of the hotel.

And despite what some less-than-scrupulous individuals may think, it is stealing.

I hope he decides to be an adult and do the right thing.

The thread title refers to "hotel valet," which seems to imply the OP is seeking a ride on a hotel's dime.

I see what you are saying and and I am confused too after reading the whole thread.

In post #8, OP refers to the service he was looking at costing $19 dollars and that he doesn't mind paying to avoid taxi service.

After doing more research online, not all downtown hotels offer their own valet transportation for free (aka complementary), some still charge a fee so OP could be talking about one of those hotels. Is it 'theft of service' if you take one of those and pay the fee?

It is not my thread and OP really needs to be clear what he/she was talking about.

I already know that certain posters resort to name calling on this forum, so they're really not worth a response. I don't mind paying "something", but I don't like to tip and generally don't like taxi cabs. I'm already robbed with various SA sales and Arena fees when I rent cars here.
It would be swell if the city would do something pro-tourist instead of the usual gouging.

If you're "already robbed" with rental car fees, then why are you looking for a cheap/ free ride? This is one confusing thread.

What about VIA bus Route #5? it stops in front of the airport terminals, and goes downtown. $1.20 regular fare, one-way.

You know there are constructive, less confrontational ways to respond to people don't you? You don't have to be so indignant in every single post you make. Lighten up on the Fox News and maybe you won't be so angry all the time...
