While I was in the process of moving, I flew back to San Antonio and rented an SUV from the Enterprise at the airport. Because I still had a San Antonio drivers license I got a special 'local rate' of $14 a day plus tax. If you are local to San Antonio have you actually checked with the rental car companies?

FWIW, the airport vehicle rental fee funds the rental car facilities at the airport. This way, no taxpayer dollars are used. The Aviation Department is in the process of
using those fees to improve the rental area .
Somebody has to pay for this stuff. I kinda like that it's being funded by the folks who use it.
So the airport's charging a fee, but the money's not being used to put new carpet in the mayor's office or to pay the air conditioning bill at the Alamodome. It's being put right back into the rental area at the airport.
