I know nothing about San Antonio. Looking to rent
near Kennedy high school/ Thompson area. Does that right? My husband needs to commute to Ft. Sam. According to GPS, it is roughly a 18 min drive.

Anyone know anything about this area?

Why do you want to live in that area? There are nicer neighborhoods nearer to Fort Sam.

Did you search this forum for Fort Sam? You should be able to find some threads with neighborhood suggestions.

There is no reason to pick that specific area if your husband is working on Ft. Sam. Maybe you can contact the Housing office at Ft. Sam? You can find a closer neighborhood that has reasonable housing prices. I teach in the district where Kennedy is located and would not choose to live in that area. Also, that 18 minute estimated drive definitely depends on time of day.
Good luck with the move.

I would suggest you rent an apartment in the alamo heights area near Ft Sam just until you get to know SA.
