Yeah, very poorly done on WOAI's part. They have a new logo yet their website is the same.

Why did they not renew that newscaster's contract?

There's a need to de-emphasize the link with the radio station because WOAI-TV is getting "divorced" from WOAI radio. Clear Channel, which currently owns both, is selling its TV stations.

The station didn't renew her contract and didn't provide details. Jeanne Jakle has some details about Tanji's future plans in her blog articles below.

In WOAI's defense, it's tough to purge all instances of an old logo at the time you roll out a new one. I used to do that kind of work at a TV station in another market and after that I've developed web sites, so I know what's involved.

In my experience, the date of a logo switchover is usually decided without the input of the people who actually have to do the replacement work. You guessed it, that means the decision was probably made on short notice! Even when the graphics and promotion people do get to provide that input, there are always out of the way places where the old logo appears that get missed, no matter how thorough the planning process is.

I think that WOAI-TV sub-contracts their web site to another company, which adds a layer of complexity to the process.
