Default Traffic: Alamo Ranch to Ft Sam Houston

My reply was pointing out that some answers, not all, didn't apply to the question.

My biggest emphasis for any potential buyer in the Alamo Ranch subdivison is the lack of an intersection at 151/1604. Residents inside 1604 may not address the lack of this interesection and likely don't know the rush hour headache in trying to just get INTO Alamo Ranch with no intersection at 151.

Trying to get into the turnaround at 471 to get into Alamo Ranch is crazy.

Finally, it looks like it'll be years before they fix this problem that some days this may only cause a 5 min delay for a Alamo Ranch resident but other days cause 15 minutes extra. This is beyond the normal wrecks on hwy 90 and 151.

Why the pontranco entrance onto 151 doesn't stay as an extra lane until the 410 exit is beyond me. There is space with the bridges being extra, extra wide.

I appologize for any commuters who took offense to my statement. It wasn't intended to spoil the Christmas spirit.

better? or maybe I'm the only one that's tired enough to find it funny..
and I completely agree with you on the traffic johnsonkk. It's like they're being Underwear Gnomes with Alamo Ranch.. 1. build it 3. profit.. who cares that everything within a few miles of it is going to turn into a giant parking lot. It's this wonderful corrupt San Antonio/Bexar County government in action again.. I always try to vote all of them out, but for some reason people keep reelecting them

No offense taken johnsonkk...I just thought maybe you had misread something or maybe I myself misunderstood some of the other posts.

And I agree with you about that Potranco/151/410 lane...and trying to get in that lane to get on the ramp is crazy in the mornings. People can be so rude sometimes when they're driving. A couple times I've not been able to get in (and unlike many other drivers I've witnessed, I'm not going to cut someone off and risk damaging my vehicle I need to get to work) and have had to go under the 410 overpass and catch the next entrance. And yes...I do use my turn signal religiously so it's not like people don't know I need to get over. ;-)

Wow... I had no idea it would be that bad... Maybe I should reconsider and find a place in the Shertz/Cibollo area. Wow, an hour is crazy, and I'm from SoCal!

And I agree with johnsonkk's point about the 1604/151 interchange and Alamo Ranch. Once the huge shopping complex opens there it will only get worse. The guy that sits next to me in the office lives in Alamo Ranch, I can understand his pain as I live a few miles down the road off of Braun and outside of 1604 and I probably make it to work in the same time as he does simply because I am already on 1604 when I hit 151. And going home, fugettaboutit!

Cheers! M2

What if I left at like 0600?? We're really trying to live in that area because my stepkids live in Wildhorse and we'd like to share custody, but we don't want to live in the same development....
