Hey all,
In the process of relocating from California.
Doing my banking homework and I'm down to two candidates.
Security Service Federal Credit Union and RBFCU.
Reading different sites and they seem to have a good following.
Our needs are typical...

Any comments from City-Data viewers?

Both are some of the best credit unions in town, I give a small edge to SSFCU because they are part of the shared branch network. You can do your banking at any credit union that participates in that network, so it expands the number of branches you can bank at. If RBFCU ever got that I would switch over.

Willsatx,
If both are good, and if both offered shared branch network, what else would cause you to switch from SSFCU?

As a resident of Bexar County, you can get banking services at USAA. There isn't a bank or credit union in Texas (probably in the country) that can touch their banking services.

I though they ended that recently.

Yes, they did. Almost a year ago.

Existing customers without a military relationship were grandfathered.

That's what I thought. I was grandfathered in. Been with them for 7 years and happy I'm still able to bank with them.

I love Randolph-Brooks. LOVE them! Great service. Just great. I feel like I'm banking with my old-school, local bank in Houston.

I am a fan of Firstmark Credit Union. I have lost my debit card three times in the last three years and they have been fabulous every time I have had to talk to them.

I also vote for Firstmark Credit Union. I never had a problem with them. If you sign up for checking be sure to use the GET100 promo to get $100 for doing direct deposit, online statements, debit card use, and bill pay.
