SAN ANTONIO — The City Council appointed Councilwoman Ivy Taylor to become San Antonio's next mayor.
She did not win a majority of the council vote, as her colleagues split 5-3 over her and Councilman Ray Lopez.
Lopez then withdrew from consideration, saying that it was important for the city to move forward.
Mayor Julián Castro then submitted his official letter of resignation, reading it aloud in council chambers.

LOL.... right. We San Antonians get to "choose" very little about what goes on in this city.

And hopefully Ivy Taylor doesn't have a twin who fills in for her during public events.

For the next 9 months, whenever the mayor does something you don't like, you can honestly say "I didn't vote for her."

Unless you're on City Council, of course.

While it does seem like San Antoni didn't choose the mayor you can always go the route of "Well you elected the city council person to represent you..." so hypothetically you could have campaigned through your city council person to vote for who you would have liked their vote to go to, no?

While that's some what facetious I'm not okay with her, for now. Not for a full 4 years. I've met her in several occasions and she's kind of a stuck up brat. Julian, while entitled has always been very down to earth and friendly when I have been in the same room with him. I'll miss him, even if it was just for her personability.

Ash I agree not a fan of hers and she does come off a bit arrogant, not to sound rude but she lives in Dist 2 acting like she oversees stone oak. But she does have a high absentee rate so not sure if she was in cahoots with the people who voted for her.
