There's a reason the San Antonio Spurs are one of best organizations in the NBA.

Tuesday, the team named Becky Hammon an assistant coach, making her the first female paid by an NBA team to be an assistant.

"I very much look forward to the addition of Becky Hammon to our staff," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said in a statement. "Having observed her working with our team this past season, I'm confident her basketball IQ, work ethic and interpersonal skills will be a great benefit to the Spurs."

I never thought I would see the day this would happen. Says a lot about Pop and Becky. Really proud of them both!!! He's a wise man. I'm quite sure he knows what he's doing.
This is just awesome!!!

I dont follow the NBA (or even the Spurs) that closely but evidently she has a pretty insane basketball mind.

You're just a bitter fakers fan mad because you lost back that 14 grand you won when the Spurs "choked" in 2013

Stop trolling Spurs threads and move on. The Lakers won't be bad forever

Congrats to Becky! In Pop we trust!

Gotta give it up the Spurs!
I don't think Pop can do any thing wrong.
Can't wait to see what this coach can bring to the new season.

Just another example of Popovich's incredible eye for talent and forward-thinking. As an organization, the Spurs set the standard of what a team should be in the NBA.

Anyone agree?

HELL YEAH I AGREE! Lakers???? Get real. The Spurs are the most progressive and forward thinking franchise in the NBA. How old is Kobe now? Duncan is old, but hell he just won his 5th title. Lakers....ha!
