The article at the link is a cautionary tale that illustrates vividly why it could be a huge mistake for San Antonio to throw hundreds of millions of public dollars at an NFL franchise.

For me Jerry "crook Jones does not represent being humble, with respect or class, it is about corporate "me", sticking up his nose to you. The greatest franchise in all sports from top to bottom that does not have to mention the name of the it's city "THE SPURS" with their ingredients put into a relocated NFL franchise. What ever eventually franchise will end up in our Alamo city, SAN ANTONIO RAIDERS, RAMS or CHARGERS will make NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE a first class league just by adding San Antonio Texas to it.

I have always been a proponent in bring a professional franchise to San Antonio and I do think we have enough people who can afford to attend these games. As with the NFL and NBA etc. are the box office seating they sell to upscale corporations not so much worrying about the average Joe attending the games.

This a big reason the Alamodome was passed over because there were not enough sky boxes and teams were not willing to foot the bill to add these luxury boxes at their expense. Misconceptions are that we are too small of a market even though our population at 2m + suggests otherwise. Blame our city leaders Nelson Wolfe who can't keep there hands off the progression of the city or spend money on attracting tourism.

Bringing the Raiders or Chargers would benefit both sides since we would save them millions of dollars in leasing the Alamodome plus there own cities are already giving up on them. We are a very fast growing city now with people relocating from way too expensive housing markets and more job opportunities. The money is there it is convincing city officials that they need to see things from our perspective not theirs.
