Do you know if there is a burn ban on fireworks right now....? We live outside city limits (in Stonecreek). Should we even bother buying fireworks for tonight???

Supposed to be a lot of wind tonight. Don't know if there is a ban or not.

Even a burn ban won't stop people from blowing up the skies. You'll see.

As I posted in another thread, it might also be too windy for the downtown fireworks tonight. Better check the local news before heading down to see fireworks.

Burn ban or not, my poor doggies will have to come in tonight--the noise freaks them out. People will still pop fireworks no matter what.

Well, whatever happens tonight and wherever it happens, I just hope and pray we don't have another stinking mountain on fire like we did in Helotes last year.
I'm just finally getting over the symptoms from that one!!

(I know it was never suspected to be the result of fireworks, but.... just the same, I'm hoping for NO REPEATS of that monster.....)

I'm watering my grass right now because of all the irresponsible fireworker shooters that'll be out tonight. Tonight and the 4th of July are my two most hated holidays now thanks to people who go WAY overboard on fireworks and don't stop until around 2:00 AM.

I'm not saying everyone that shoots fireworks is irresponsible, just a LOT of them are.. and VERY RUDE. Believe it or not, some of us will be going to work in the morning..

semi-annual rant over

I agree, rd2007... I prayed for rain-- instead I will turn on the sprinkler for awhile. The 4th was miserable... my roof and yard were covered in debris the next morning. I'm not against them, just why can't people go out to the designated areas? It scares the dogs to death, wakes my granddaughter...and like you said, some of us still have to get up early. Hope nobody tries to sneak the illegal types in here.
