I'm not all for it, but I'm partly for it. I'm a big boy. I don't need the government telling me I can't change the radio station on my phone or read a text message during the 2-3 minutes I'm sitting at one of our city's many traffic signals. Yes, there is no exemption for sitting at a red light.

Other than that, I'm with you. I don't need to text while I'm driving and in motion.

Sorry Bo but the morons in this town and other towns out number you. Far too many zit brains with drivers licenses that the cell phone is important, driving is secondary. So yeah, I'm HAPPY!!!!!!

That pretty much sums up the way I feel. I never text while driving, in fact I rarely text, period. I will sometimes answer an incoming call while driving, if I feel it is safe to do so. I do not place calls while driving, unless maybe I am stopped at a light, or stuck in a traffic jam, in which case the call is going to be to let someone know I am going to run late, due to traffic. But even that won't be legal, after January 1st. I'll have to pull off the road to place those calls, which can be next to impossible, if stopped traffic has you hemmed in.

At least it won't be that much of an adjustment for me. I still have a landline, which serves as my phone number of record, and I ask that all callers use that number, and just leave a voicemail, unless it is urgent that I be contacted. I give my cell number out sparingly. I am definitely a "light" cell phone user.

The people I see driving down the road for miles, with their cell phone glued to their ear, are the ones that are really going to be impacted by this.

I understand what you are saying, but I am sick and tired of sitting at a stop light with several cars in front of me....and there is always some airhead with their head down, texting. Light turns green....and they sit there until someone blows the horn and wakes them up. By the time they start moving, light turns yellow and half the cars that should have gotten thru the light get to wait for the next cycle, due to their texting.(they are usually the last one to speed thru the light). Holds up traffic.

This frustrates me, too. I don't know if this is a problem specific to San Antonio and certain other cities, but I've heard many transplants complain about how long it takes people to move when the light turns green. I haven't ran into this problem much in San Marcos, and there are a bunch of college students here.
