I got my TWC bill, and since we have Roadrunner, phone and cable with them (and I am lazy) I allowed them to bill my monthly service to my American Express card.

TWC must think this means I am stupid, as they slipped in a new $19.99 charge to my phone service, without request, authorization or even trying to sell it to me (do they actually think those of us that choose auto pay don't even review our bill monthly! )

Anyway, if you have TWC phone, CHECK YOUR BILL!!! I need to call them back after 9am to dispute this wonderful new International calling plan that was tacked onto my bill very quietly and without request. I suppose if even 1% of the folks that don't call and complain about this new added $20 charge, they come out REALLY making the $$$ on this slick move.

SERIOUSLY thinking of ditching TWC for SBC or ATT or whatever they call themselves this week. Can anyone give me feedback on services/costs. Think I have had enough of this slick willie stuff from TWC!

It must've been an error. I seriously doubt they would stoop to that level. I could see at&t doing that though... but seriously, I've had TWC for over 15 years and they've never tried that one on me. Plus I just looked at my bill yesterday and everything jived like it should. I was mad that the price didn't go down after I signed up for that two year agreement thing, but then I noticed that almost $20 of the bill was to cover the last month of extra service, so it's still going down $20 and I get extra services.

If you recently (6 months to a year ago) upgraded your TW service, added in digital phone etc., that might be why. I remember our bill went up similarly a while back and when we called the company they said our promotional sign up discount for the digital phone service had ran out and now they were billing us fully. I remember the day the TW saleslady talked us into losing SW Bell, I guess it was a good while back lol since it is AT&T now, and we switched over to TW digital phone. She said how much we would save yada yada. Never did she mention the price would go up. I truly feel it was a dirty trick and am going to up and quit em eventually.

Thanks for the warning, Paka. I keep trying to get my husband to switch, but he loves TW. I think we pay too much.

I have to agree with RD, there is too much sophisticated crap they have out there now a days to catch people who just "tack" things on to your phone bill. Heck just to get your phone you have to go through a "phone screen" to indicate you want their services. I dont think Time Warner wants to just "tack" on an additional phone charge to you without your consent to lose you as a customer. Also, their customer service is open 24-7, you can call them and take care of that problem at 2 am.

When I initially signed up for digital phone they let me know several times that it was a special price and it would go up in 6 months. It also clearly stated that on their advertisement.

Las time a company tried to scam me was in the 90's. Montgomery Ward signed me up for some credit insurance and when I called to complain they gave me the date I signed up for it. I let them know I was on a submarine under water on that date, so there was no way they contacted me. They didn't fight that one

Default At&t

AT&T U-verse is a better product and better price. The picture quality is far superior that Time Warners. And if all things were equal(Which they aren't), you should support a local company. Time Warner is headquartered in CT.

We have Att call vantage for digital phone and love it. Cheaper that TW and never had a problem with them.
